In Memory Of Pure Magic. Magic, Madge and Sweet Pea were just some of the names I would call her. For me she was probably the nearest you could get to what is called a safe horse. She taught so many people to ride and I think she was loved by everyone. Her only fault was her stubbornness, she would plant all four feet and refuse to move and, being a Shire x Dales standing at 15.3 and rather wide it was exhausting trying to get her to move again but she truly was a gentle giant and didn’t have a mean bone in her body. When she retired from the school I took her on full time and worked with her on the ground. This is when our bond and trust really started to grow and, if not distracted by anything else she would watch where I was going if I left her. Magic and I entered our first in hand show for quite sometime and I was expecting her to do her plodding walk but as soon as we got in the ring I knew she was planning some mischief, she really paced out her walk and sure enough when we started trotting she decided she wanted to canter. I held on to her and got her back to trot. Had it been any other horse I may have panicked and let go but that is how much I trusted her to not harm me. I had started teaching her simple tricks which was fun and I’m sure Magic enjoyed the treats in the learning process. Kimberley and I had so many plans for her but it was not to be. Sadly she went over the Rainbow Bridge on 7th May 2021. She was my soulmate and I miss her so much no other horse can take her place. For me she was that one in a million R.I.P Sweet Pea run free.
